„LEBE AUF“
Die „Lebe auf“-EP ist die erste Veröffentlichung des Labels „The Merchant Records“.
Die Platte erschien im Juli 2018 als 12“-Vinyl mit vier Vocal-Tunes von Melodiemann, denen jeweils eine Dub-Version folgt, welche von Chris Tuff, LilZé und Tamrin produziert wurden.
Alle Beteiligten gehören zum engsten Kreis von Collynization und Joyful Noise und sind seit vielen Jahren tief in der Soundsystem-Kultur verwurzelt. Sowohl das Format der Platte, als auch die klassische Kombination von Tune und Dub, bezeugen die Tradition und verknüpfen diese mit den Sounds und Themen dieser Zeit.
Melodiemanns deutschsprachige Texte greifen brandaktuelle Geschehnisse auf. Die Wortwahl ist scharf, die Reime sind direkt und prangern gesellschaftliche Misstände an. Trotzdem beinhaltet jeder einzelne Tune eine positive und optimistische Haltung.
